Get A Broom: ICSweep!

Clearing temporary files, especially Internet and temp files, is usually something we don't think about. Normally the Windows operating system takes care of these functions automatically based on preset system settings. Depending on the size of your hard drive the total available space may result in a person never noticing a decrease in web browsing speed. However, if you do a lot of Internet surfing, it may be necessary to dump these files more frequently. I saw a posting on the Internet one evening from someone looking for an easy way to do this on a computer with multiple users. It seems he didn’t want to have to log into each user profile and manually delete the files. If you find yourself in this situation here’s a neat utility for performing this task. It’s called ICSweep and as always, it’s FREE. The utility is available at this site: http://www.ctrl-alt-del.com.au/CAD_TSUtils.htm#Freeware Simply download the program and run it. It will delete the temporary Internet files in all non active profiles (i.e. It will delete the files in all profiles except the one you are currently logged in under). By default, the program deletes just temporary Internet files, however it can be configured to delete temporary Internet and temp files in any combination. Run ICSweep.exe /? from a DOS command prompt to get help on the various available switch options. However, if all you want to do is delete temporary Internet files, you can simply run the program by double clicking the executable.
